Zelensky's remarks came in response to a question from NBC host Kristen Welker regarding the duration of American support for the conflict, considering the opposition to sending additional aid to Ukraine.

Zelensky underlined that while Ukraine is shouldering the responsibility of fighting, the United States is providing munitions rather than funding the war directly. He stressed the significance of this assistance, as it allows the U.S. Army and NATO to focus on other crucial tasks, while Ukrainians fight on the front lines.

"The Americans are not funding the war in Ukraine. They foremost protect freedom and democracy all over Europe. And Ukraine is fighting. And this reduces the price for all Europe, for all NATO," Zelensky stated, speaking through a translator. "It reduces the price for everyone, including the U.S. as the leaders in NATO."

Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Zelensky called on the Senate to approve the massive foreign aid package, which includes approximately $61 billion designated for Ukraine. The House has already approved the package, along with $26 billion for Israel and $8 billion for allies in the Indo-Pacific.

"We definitely need this aid. And Kristen, we really need to get this to the final point. We need to get it approved by the Senate. And then we want to get things as fast as possible so that we get some tangible assistance for the soldiers on the front as soon as possible," Zelensky emphasized through a translator.

The aid package for Ukraine aims to provide support and resources to the Ukrainian soldiers on the front lines, ensuring they can continue their fight with enhanced capabilities. Zelensky expressed the urgency of receiving this assistance quickly, stressing that it should not be delayed for another six months.

As the Senate considers the aid package, the focus will be on providing tangible and immediate assistance to the courageous men and women who are risking their lives to protect Ukraine's sovereignty. President Zelensky's appeal highlights the importance of continued international support and the shared responsibility to maintain stability and democracy in the region.

It remains to be seen how swiftly the Senate will act on this crucial aid package, but the urgency expressed by Zelensky underscores the pressing need for swift action to assist Ukraine in its fight against aggression.
