Ukraine's military has struck two Russian munition depots, showcasing a new capability to target deep inside Russian territory. The attacks targeted the munitions depots in Tikhoretsk, located in southern Russia, and Oktyabrsky in the western region of Tver. According to Ukraine's military general staff, Tikhoretsk's storage facility is among the top three largest munitions storages of the occupiers and plays a crucial role in the Russian military logistical system. The strike occurred as a train carrying 2,000 tonnes of munitions, including supplies from North Korea, was present at the depot.

Sources within the Ukrainian security establishment revealed that drones were employed in the attacks. The strikes on the Tikhoretsk depot were executed in a joint operation between Ukraine's domestic SBU intelligence service and the military, while the Oktyabrsky targeting was carried out solely by the SBU. Over the past year, the SBU has been conducting drone attacks deep inside Russia. The utilization of long-range drones has enabled Ukraine to bridge the armament gap with Russia, which possesses a significant arsenal of long-range missiles. Kyiv is currently seeking permission from its western allies to utilize long-range missiles they have supplied to Ukraine for strikes deep inside Russian territory.

Additionally, SBU drones targeted unspecified infrastructure at the Shaikovka military airfield in Russia. On the other side, a Russian missile strike in the central Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih resulted in the tragic deaths of a 12-year-old boy and two elderly women, confirmed by the regional governor. Russia claimed to have struck Ukrainian energy facilities overnight using high-precision weaponry and drones, as reported by Russian news agencies. The escalating conflict continues to escalate tensions between the neighboring countries, with both sides employing advanced military tactics and technology in the ongoing struggle.
