U.S. Senator John Fetterman Involved in Two-Vehicle Crash in Maryland

HANCOCK, Md. - U.S. Senator John Fetterman and his wife, Gisele, were involved in a two-vehicle crash on Sunday morning in Maryland. The incident took place on westbound Interstate 70 at Interstate 68, and troopers from the Maryland State Police Hagerstown Barrack responded to the scene just before 8 a.m.

According to the preliminary investigation conducted by the Maryland State Police, Fetterman, 54, was driving a Chevrolet Traverse in the westbound direction on Interstate 70 when it collided with the rear of a Chevrolet Impala. Both vehicles were traveling west on I-70 at the time of the accident.

As a result of the crash, a passenger in Fetterman's Traverse and the driver of the Impala sustained injuries and were transported by ambulance to War Memorial Hospital in West Virginia for treatment. The nature and severity of their injuries remain undisclosed.

A spokesperson for Sen. Fetterman's office provided an update on Monday, stating that both Fetterman and his wife were taken to a local hospital for evaluation following the accident. Fetterman was treated for a bruised shoulder, and they were discharged in the afternoon. The spokesperson reassured that both Fetterman and his wife are in good health and have returned to their home in Braddock.

The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation by the Maryland State Police, and it is unclear if any charges will be filed against either driver involved.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safe driving and remaining vigilant on the roads to prevent accidents and ensure the well-being of motorists.
