Two-Alarm House Fire Erupts in Essex, Home Destroyed

Baltimore County - A two-alarm house fire engulfed a residence on Crafton Road in Essex after the home exploded on Saturday night. Fire crews swiftly responded to the incident just after 11:00 p.m. on April 20.
Upon arrival, firefighters were met with a harrowing scene as heavy flames consumed the rear of the house. The intensity of the fire prompted authorities to call for assistance from Baltimore Gas and Electric, hazmat teams, and fire investigators.
Fortunately, no individuals were inside the home at the time of the explosion, and no reported injuries have been directly linked to the incident. However, during the course of the blaze, emergency services were alerted to another nearby residence where a male resident sustained injuries that are suspected to be connected to the fire.
Officials have not confirmed whether the injured man was inside the home or in the vicinity of the explosion when he sustained these injuries. Updates regarding the cause of the fire are expected to be provided on Monday or Tuesday.
