Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made bold statements during his speech at the 79th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Tuesday, where he compared Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler. Erdoğan called for the international community to unite and stop Netanyahu and what he referred to as the "murder network." Drawing parallels to history, he emphasized that just as Hitler was stopped by the alliance of humanity 70 years ago, a similar alliance was needed now to halt Israeli operations.

During his address, Erdoğan criticized the United Nations for its perceived failure to address the ongoing crisis, particularly in Gaza. He highlighted the staggering toll of more than 41,000 Palestinians who have lost their lives since the invasion of Israel last year, with over 17,000 children being victims of Israeli violence. Erdoğan called out the United Nations Security Council, demanding immediate action to prevent what he described as a genocide in Gaza and to end the cruelty and barbarism inflicted upon the Palestinian people.

In a direct challenge to U.S. policy in the region, Erdoğan condemned the continued support provided to Israel by nations claiming to work towards a ceasefire. He accused these countries of enabling Israeli atrocities by supplying arms and ammunition for ongoing massacres. The Turkish president also called upon states offering unconditional support to Israel to acknowledge the State of Palestine without delay, a move he believes will help alleviate the suffering of Palestinians and foster a path towards peace.

Addressing the escalating tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, Erdoğan expressed solidarity with the Lebanese people and criticized Israel for exacerbating regional conflicts through its actions against Hezbollah militants. Not shying away from potential intervention, Erdoğan had previously warned of deploying Turkish troops to Israel in defense of the Palestinians. As he concluded his speech, he urged the international community to heed his calls for intervention and support in order to prevent further bloodshed and bring about a resolution to the crisis in the region.
