### Trump Issues Executive Order Restricting Harvard International Students Amid New Travel Ban

In a significant move, President Donald Trump has signed an executive order that prevents nearly all international students from enrolling at Harvard University. This decision comes in the wake of a new travel ban affecting 12 countries.

The executive order, signed on Wednesday, declares that allowing Harvard to host international students poses a risk to national security. "Harvard's conduct has rendered it an unsuitable destination for international students and researchers," the order states. Consequently, it restricts students trying to enter the U.S. for the purpose of attending Harvard from the date the order was signed. The order is set to last for six months, with the possibility of extension.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio has been tasked with deciding if the visas of current foreign students at Harvard should be revoked. Presently, international students comprise about a quarter of Harvard's student body.

This directive represents an intensification of the administration's ongoing conflict with one of the nation's most prominent and affluent educational institutions. Just last week, a federal court in Boston blocked the Department of Homeland Security from halting visa applications for international students bound for Harvard.

President Trump has previously criticized top U.S. universities, claiming they foster anti-American sentiments. This latest order leverages different legal grounds to restrict foreign students, further escalating the administration's efforts against Harvard.
