**Trump Posts AI-Generated Image of Himself as NFL Star Amid Pennsylvania Campaign Stops**

Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, shared what seems to be an AI-generated image of himself as a Pittsburgh Steelers player on Truth Social on October 21. The image surfaced following a busy day for the former president, who held a campaign rally in Pittsburgh, served French fries at a McDonald's in Bucks County, and attended a Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New York Jets game.

Upon arriving at the game midway through the first quarter, Trump received a warm reception from Steelers fans. He expressed his gratitude on Truth Social, writing, "Thank you to the Steelers fans for the great reception tonight. November 5th will be the most important day in the history of our Country! MAGA2024!!!" Verified photos from the event captured Trump in a suite at Acrisure Stadium, attired in a blue suit and red tie, rather than the football gear seen in the AI image.

The controversial image portrays Trump on the field in a Steelers jersey, with noticeably more muscular arms and torso compared to recent photos and videos of him in sportswear. An "Is It AI?" image detector suggested an 81 percent likelihood that the picture was AI-generated, and AIimagedetector.org supported this conclusion, indicating that the image was approximately 70 percent AI-generated.

Newsweek reached out to both the Trump campaign and the Pittsburgh Steelers for comments but did not receive an immediate response. This incident is not isolated, as Trump has previously shared altered photos of himself and others. Notably, in August, he posted an image of himself and allies in photoshopped superhero outfits and a widely circulated AI-generated picture of himself kneeling in prayer.

Trump’s history of sharing digitally altered images extends to his opponents as well. He posted AI-generated images of Taylor Swift endorsing him and Kamala Harris speaking in front of a communist flag. The legitimacy and impact of these AI-generated images continue to spark debate and highlight the importance of discerning real from altered visuals in the digital age.
