Trump's VP Pick, JD Vance, to Attend Fundraiser in San Diego County
Former President Donald Trump's vice presidential pick, U.S. Sen. JD Vance (R-OH), is set to visit San Diego County in September, according to Southern California Republican Party officials. Vance's trip will include attending a fundraising event on Friday, Sept. 6, in Rancho Santa Fe.
The announcement of Vance's visit was made by the Orange County Republican Party, who sent out an email invitation on Sunday. The lunchtime fundraiser, hosted by Doctor Bob and June Shillman, offers different donation levels for attendees. The minimum donation to attend is $1,000, while the highest level is priced at $50,000 per couple, granting access to a roundtable discussion, photo opportunity, and lunch. All donations will be directed towards the Trump 47 Committee, Inc., Save America, Republican National Committee (RNC), and the federal accounts of State Republican Parties in all 50 states.
Following the Rancho Santa Fe fundraiser, Vance will also be attending a reception in Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 8. Similar donation tiers will be in place for this event.
JD Vance came into the public eye in 2016 with the publication of his bestselling memoir, "Hillbilly Elegy." He was later chosen by President Trump as his running mate in mid-August. This weekend, Vance made headlines after expressing his belief that Trump would veto a federal abortion ban if such a bill were to be passed by Congress.
Vance is scheduled to participate in a debate against Democratic vice-presidential candidate Tim Walz on Oct. 1. While further details of Vance's itinerary are yet to be disclosed, interested guests are encouraged to RSVP to T47Events@GOP.com.
