**Trump's Delay Forces Many Supporters to Leave Michigan Rally Early**

Supporters of Donald Trump faced frustration in Michigan as many left a rally before the former president even arrived. The delays were caused by Trump recording a lengthy podcast interview, leaving those who remained to shiver in the cold on an airport tarmac.

Apologizing to the crowd, Trump attributed the delay to his three-hour interview with Joe Rogan, the widely-followed podcaster known for his influence among young male voters. The interview, recorded in Austin, Texas, covered various topics including UFOs and Trump's familiar campaign narratives. Trump assured his supporters via a video from his plane, promising a good time despite the wait.

The rally, initially scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Eastern, faced further delays as Trump did not leave Texas until just minutes before the start time. His spokesman updated on social media that Trump was en route, but with over two hours of flight ahead. Temperatures in Traverse City dipped to around 50 degrees Fahrenheit, causing discomfort among attendees who waited in blankets to stay warm.

Despite the chilly reception, the crowd cheered as Trump finally landed and appeared on stage. "I am so sorry," he told them, explaining the delay and emphasizing his dedication to winning. The energy had waned as North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum and former Republican gubernatorial candidate Tudor Dixon kept the crowd engaged in Trump's absence.

John and Cheryl Sowash, Traverse City residents, were among those who stayed from as early as 4 p.m. John noted, "He spoke to a lot more people talking to Joe Rogan than he did here." Cheryl expressed concern that Trump missed a larger crowd that had already left, anticipating his disappointment.

The Rogan interview is part of Trump's broader strategy to engage with younger male voters through popular podcasts and outspoken surrogates. During the podcast, Rogan engaged Trump on topics such as including Robert F. Kennedy Jr. in his administration and the possibility of eliminating federal income taxes. Trump also touched upon UFO speculation, distancing himself from the theories but acknowledging frequent curiosity about alien life.

In his conversation with Rogan, Trump described Chinese President Xi Jinping as a "brilliant guy, whether you like it or not," marking yet another controversial statement. Rogan's podcast, "The Joe Rogan Experience," has consistently topped the charts, amplifying the reach of their discussion.
