Former President Donald Trump is set to make two stops in Pennsylvania on Saturday as part of his campaign trail, while President Joe Biden prepares for a three-day campaign swing through the state next week. Pennsylvania is a crucial battleground that could potentially play a significant role in determining the outcome of a potential 2024 election rematch between the two political figures.

Trump's first stop will be in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where he will hold a fundraiser before heading to Schnecksville in the Lehigh Valley for a rally. The Lehigh Valley is known for being highly competitive and home to a significant population of Latino voters, a group that Trump has reportedly made gains with during his previous campaigns.

This visit to Pennsylvania marks Trump's third trip to the state this year. In February, he addressed NRA members in Harrisburgh and made an unusual appearance at the 'Sneaker Con' trade show in Philadelphia to promote his Trump-branded sneakers.

While Trump focuses on gathering support in Pennsylvania, Biden's political advisers state that the president plans to emphasize his economic plans, particularly his intention to raise taxes for the wealthiest Americans and corporations. Biden will kick off his three-day swing in Scranton, where he spent part of his childhood, followed by events in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.

Notably, Trump's visit to Pennsylvania coincides with the start of his hush money trial in New York City, where he faces 34 state felony charges. The trial, beginning on Monday, centers around allegations of Trump falsifying business records in relation to hush-money payments made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels during the 2016 election. Trump has consistently denied both the allegations and any wrongdoing related to the payments.

Pennsylvania was one of six battleground states where Biden narrowly defeated Trump in the 2020 presidential election. Recent public opinion polls suggest a close contest between the two candidates for the state's 19 electoral votes, underlining the significance of their campaign efforts in Pennsylvania.

As Biden returns to his birth state, Trump continues to make history with his upcoming trial. He becomes the first current or former president in the nation's history to face such legal proceedings. While Trump's trial unfolds, both candidates will be engaging with voters in Pennsylvania in an attempt to rally support ahead of future political battles.
