Former President Donald Trump faced widespread ridicule on late-night television for a recent social media post on his Truth Social platform. In the post, he reignited a feud with talk show host Jimmy Kimmel and made several factual errors. This incident comes amidst Trump's ongoing hush money trial, which is currently in the jury selection process in Manhattan.

In his post, Trump mistakenly confused Jimmy Kimmel with actor Al Pacino, alleging that Kimmel hosted this year's Oscars and had a poor performance. However, it was Pacino who presented the Best Picture award at the ceremony. Furthermore, Trump falsely claimed that Kimmel's hosting led to a decline in ratings, when in fact, the Nielsen data showed a 4 percent increase.

Kimmel seized the opportunity to mock Trump during his monologue on Jimmy Kimmel Live! He pointed out the incorrect information in Trump's post and highlighted the rise in ratings for this year's Oscars. Kimmel even hinted at potentially hosting the show again next year, although he has not officially signed on for the role.

Late-night host Stephen Colbert also joined in on the mockery during The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. He jokingly referred to Trump's post as a "syphilitic ramble" and sarcastically anticipated Trump's new campaign slogan for the 2024 election.

While Trump's feud with Jimmy Kimmel unfolds on social media, he is currently facing serious legal challenges in his hush money trial. The trial marks the first criminal proceedings against a former president, as Trump stands accused of falsifying business records to conceal a sex scandal.

As jury selection enters its third day, the attention remains divided between Trump's legal troubles and his social media blunder. The former president's post not only garnered significant attention but also provided comedic material for late-night hosts.

With the trial ongoing and the presidential campaign looming ahead, it remains to be seen how Trump will navigate these challenges and whether his online feuds will continue to distract from the legal proceedings.
