In a show of continued campaign fervor, former President Donald Trump addressed around 7,000 supporters at a rally in Mosinee, central Wisconsin, on Saturday. This marked Trump's fourth campaign rally in the state, following events in Green Bay, Waukesha, Racine, and a town hall event in La Crosse last week. With less than 10 weeks until Election Day, both Democrat and Republican campaigns have been actively engaging with Wisconsin voters.

Speaking from behind a plexiglass barrier, Trump made a range of promises during his discursive speech. One of his main pledges was to end the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war before being sworn into office again. Additionally, he vowed to abolish the federal Department of Education and return educational policymaking to the state level. These proposals resonated with many strong conservatives in attendance, including Tony and Jenette Sherfinski from Schofield, who described Trump as the best president since Ronald Reagan.

Despite the entry of Vice President Kamala Harris on the opposing campaign, Tony and Jenette expressed enthusiasm for Trump's re-election bid. They questioned the democratic legitimacy of Harris' nomination after Joe Biden dropped out of the race, stating that "what the Democrats did with Harris is not democratic at all." Tony challenged Harris to hold rallies in central Wisconsin, echoing the sentiment that Trump consistently draws large crowds of supporters.

As Trump's speech stretched over 1.5 hours, some attendees began to leave the Central Wisconsin Airport venue. However, those who remained continued to show their lively support, cheering and clapping throughout. The direct sunlight and close quarters posed challenges for some in the crowd, and EMTs were present to assist those who had fallen or were experiencing discomfort. At one point, the rally was briefly halted when a woman collapsed, prompting swift emergency medical response.

In Wisconsin, a key battleground state, the race for the presidency is intensifying as Election Day approaches. Trump's repeated engagement with voters through rallies has sparked enthusiasm among his supporters, who commend his determination and fight. As the campaign trail continues, both candidates will continue to vie for the attention and votes of Wisconsin residents, setting the stage for a highly contested electoral battle in the coming months.
