In a recent post on his social media platform Truth Social, former President Donald Trump made headlines by claiming that adjustments to the nominees' height would not be allowed during the upcoming presidential debate. Trump specifically mentioned his previous encounter with former NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg and stated that "no boxes or artificial lifts" would be permitted during his debate with Vice President Kamala Harris.

While it remains unclear whether Trump was relaying the outcome of discussions with ABC ahead of the debate or speculating, his comments shed light on a past feud with Bloomberg. During Bloomberg's 2020 Democratic nomination bid, Trump referred to him as "Mini Mike Bloomberg" and alleged that the former mayor had requested to stand on a box behind his podium during a debate. However, it should be noted that these claims were never substantiated.

In response to Trump's allegations, Bloomberg's 2020 campaign spokesperson fired back at the time, accusing the former president of being a "pathological liar" who lies about everything, including his appearance and physical attributes.

The issue of height adjustments in debates has now resurfaced as Trump highlights the potential for cheating and accuses Democrats of already engaging in dishonest practices. Trump stated, "'You are who you are,' it was determined!" seemingly implying that height adjustments would be unfair advantages.

Height has been a subject of conversation for both Trump and Harris. The former president's height has been variously reported as 6'2" and 6'3", while the vice president has asserted her own height as 5'4" and a quarter. Harris even clarified in an interview with "Today" host Katie Couric that with heels, which she always wears, she reaches a height of about 5'7' and a half, emphasizing the importance of accurate representation.

As the presidential debate approaches, it remains to be seen whether any official guidelines will be set regarding height adjustments for the nominees. The focus on this issue adds further intrigue to an already highly anticipated event, highlighting the attention placed on every aspect of the candidates' performances on stage.
