In a widening exchange between the two presidential contenders, former US President Donald Trump has challenged his Democratic opponent Joe Biden to a debate, offering a range of venue suggestions ahead of the November elections. Responding to Biden's recent comment that he's "happy to debate," Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, and declared he is ready to debate "ANYWHERE, ANYTIME, ANYPLACE."

During a surprising interview with Howard Stern, Biden admitted that he had no clue about the specifics of a debate with Trump. In response, Trump proposed several potential venues for the debate, including Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday evening at his rally in Michigan. This marks a departure from Trump's previous stance of refusing to debate any primary opponents but eagerly facing off against Biden in a rematch for the 2024 White House battle.

Trump has consistently mocked Biden, asserting that the 81-year-old Commander-in-Chief "can't put two sentences together." Biden's announcement about the debate comes at a time when Trump is embroiled in a hush money trial in New York. In light of this, the Republican leader suggested having the debate at the courthouse that evening, broadcasting it nationally on television.

Biden had previously stated that his decision to debate Trump would depend on the former president's behavior, implying that Trump's eagerness to debate stems from having nothing else to do. However, despite Trump's willingness to debate anytime and anywhere, it appears unlikely that a face-to-face debate will take place. Both candidates would need to agree on a set of rules before engaging in a debate.

In an effort to ensure a debate between the two contenders, a dozen US news organizations have urged Biden and Trump to publicly commit to participating in general election debates before November's election. The call for a debate comes as the nation awaits a rematch between the two prominent figures in American politics.

As the election season progresses, the question of a Biden-Trump debate remains open, with both candidates yet to come to an agreement on the terms and conditions. The American people continue to anticipate whether these two political heavyweights will finally meet on the debate stage, providing a pivotal moment in the race for the White House.
