**Trump Dismisses Unfavorable Poll, Claims Iowa Numbers Skewed by "Trump Hater"**

Donald Trump expressed dismay over new polling data from Iowa, which previously positioned him as the favored candidate in the heavily Republican state. The former president criticized the latest numbers from the Des Moines Register/Mediacom poll and accused Ann Selzer, the pollster known for her accuracy in last-minute Iowa polling, of bias against him.

"No President has done more for FARMERS, and the Great State of Iowa, than Donald J. Trump," Trump asserted on Truth Social, emphasizing his previously strong standing in Iowa. "All polls, except for one heavily skewed toward the Democrats by a Trump hater who called it totally wrong the last time, have me up, BY A LOT. I LOVE THE FARMERS, AND THEY LOVE ME."

Trump's comments were fueled by the new data showing Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of him 47 percent to 44 percent. In contrast, the Trump campaign highlighted a different poll from Emerson College, which had him leading by 10 points. The campaign dismissed the Des Moines Register's findings as a "bluff," claiming that Emerson College's poll more accurately reflected the sentiments of Iowa voters.

Senior Trump adviser Jason Miller and Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk also criticized the Selzer poll. Miller termed it an "idiotic survey," while Kirk labeled it as "fake" and a tactic designed by the media to "suppress turnout."

Despite the backlash, Ann Selzer stood by her work, noting the consistency of her methodology. "These are the kinds of comments seen for virtually any poll, including mine," she told Newsweek. Selzer emphasized that her polling methods were the same ones that predicted Trump's Iowa wins in 2016 and 2020.

Even though Trump clinched Iowa by 9 points in 2016 and by 8 points in 2020, the recent surprising poll results have led to a noticeable decline in his election betting odds.
