Former President Donald Trump took to his newly launched social media platform, Truth Social, to launch an attack on late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel. Trump referred to Kimmel as "stupid" and criticized his performance as host of the 96th Academy Awards. The latest exchange comes after Kimmel mocked Trump's involvement in a "hush money" trial.

Kimmel, known for his outspoken criticism of Trump, had recently referred to the trial as "Another Stormy day in New York in the new episode of 'The Orange People's Court' today starring Donald J. Trump as the defendant in his first of many criminal trials to come." The trial in question refers to the legal battle involving adult film actress Stormy Daniels, who had alleged an affair with Trump.

This is not the first time Trump and Kimmel have clashed. In 2015, Trump appeared on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" where Kimmel jokingly revealed that he had "ghost wrote" a book for Trump titled "Winners Aren't Losers." Their feud continued when Kimmel became an advocate for saving the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, which Trump attempted to repeal in 2017. Kimmel's active stance on issues, including gun violence, and his jabs at Trump's family have fueled the ongoing animosity between the two.

Since the launch of Truth Social, Trump's new social media platform, he has used it to target Kimmel multiple times. The platform was unveiled as an alternative to mainstream social media sites and aims to provide a platform for conservative voices.

The back-and-forth between Trump and Kimmel illustrates the enduring clash between the former president and his critics in the entertainment industry. As both continue to engage each other on various platforms, it remains to be seen if their feud will subside or escalate in the coming months.
