Atlanta was abuzz with excitement as people began lining up early in anticipation of the rally featuring former President Donald Trump and his running mate, J.D. Vance. The event, held at Georgia State University Convocation Center, which can accommodate up to 8,000 people, attracted a significant number of eager supporters.

Scheduled to begin at 3 p.m., the doors for the rally will open at 1 p.m., giving attendees ample time to find their seats. J.D. Vance will take the stage at 4 p.m., followed by Donald Trump at 5 p.m., both expected to deliver impassioned speeches to the crowd.

For those unable to attend in person, FOX 5 Atlanta will livestream the rally on various platforms, including Facebook, YouTube, their website, and the FOX Local streaming app.

The rally's location at the Georgia State University Convocation Center, situated at 455 Capitol Ave. SE in Atlanta, has prompted several road closures in the vicinity. Drivers should anticipate rolling closures on Interstate 85 near the airport, as well as closures on Capitol Avenue, Ralph David Abernathy, and University Avenue near the Center. Additionally, there will be intermittent closures throughout the day as event preparations continue.

If you plan on attending the rally, here are some essential details to keep in mind. Entry requires a ticket, so be sure to have one before heading to the venue. In light of the enthusiastic turnout, it is wise to arrive early, as people were already lining up in the early hours of Saturday morning. Parking will begin at 8 a.m. on a first-come, first-served basis. The venue provides two lots for parking: the Blue Lot at 76 Fulton St. SW and the Green Lot at 640 Pollard Blvd. SW. However, reservations for parking will not be accepted. Limited ADA parking options are available as well.

For alternative transportation methods, rideshares can drop off passengers at the corner of Fulton Street SW and Capitol Avenue SE. Additionally, the GSU MARTA station, located 7 miles away from the Convocation Center, provides public transportation options for attendees.

While a confirmed list of attendees has not been released, numerous notable figures are expected to grace the rally. Representatives Marjorie Taylor Greene and Lt. Gov. Burt Jones have confirmed their presence, with Georgia GOP Chairman Josh McKoon and RNC National Committeewoman Amy Kremer also expected to attend.

However, some notable individuals will not be in attendance. Gov. Brian Kemp has prior commitments, and former Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan, known for his vocal criticism of the former president, will also be absent. Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and Attorney General Chris Carr are among the other notable figures who will not be present at the rally.

This marks the fourth visit of the former president to Georgia this year. Past visits included a fundraiser in Rome in April, a campaign rally alongside Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, and the first presidential debate against President Joe Biden in June. While there are no scheduled visits to Georgia before the election at the moment, it is likely subject to change.

For J.D. Vance, this rally in Atlanta will mark his first visit as the Republican vice presidential nominee. As the anticipation builds, supporters and political enthusiasts alike eagerly await the speeches and messages that will be delivered at this highly anticipated event.
