In an effort to engage with the Hispanic community and address their concerns ahead of the upcoming election, both Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump have agreed to participate in separate town hall events hosted by the Spanish-language media giant, TelevisaUnivision. The town halls, titled "Los Latinos Preguntan... Donald Trump Responde" and "Los Latinos Preguntan... Kamala Harris Responde," will be moderated by Televisa En punto anchor Enrique Acevedo and feature an audience of undecided Hispanic voters.
The Trump town hall is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 10 p.m. in Miami, Florida, while the Harris town hall will take place on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 10 p.m. in Las Vegas, Nevada. The events will be broadcasted on Univision and ViX with Spanish translation, and the English-language version will be available on the Noticias Univision YouTube channel. This initiative by TelevisaUnivision aims to provide a platform for Latino voices and to convey the concerns of the Hispanic community to the political candidates.
"Noticias Univision serves as a two-way bridge: we bring every voice to our community while conveying the concerns of Latinos to those in power," stated Daniel Coronell, president of Noticias Univision, emphasizing the importance of engaging the 36 million eligible Hispanic voters in the United States. With the outcome of the election potentially hinging on the Latino vote, these town halls could prove to be pivotal events in influencing the future of the nation.
