His assertions, posted on Truth Social, come in the final week of the presidential race and echo past accusations made prior to the 2020 election. Trump, the Republican nominee, appears to be setting the stage for potentially challenging the election results if Democratic opponent Kamala Harris wins the key swing state.

Trump's social media post accused Pennsylvania of cheating "at large scale levels rarely seen before," urging his followers to report the alleged fraud to authorities and demanded immediate action from law enforcement. Just two days earlier, he falsely claimed that Lancaster County had been "caught" with "fake ballots and forms." Officials in Lancaster County have initiated an investigation into approximately 2,500 suspicious voter registration applications but did not allege that these involved any fraudulent vote casting.

Trump did not stop there. He also implicated York County, claiming it received thousands of potentially fraudulent voter registration forms and mail-in ballot applications from a third-party organization. York County President Commissioner Julie Wheeler remarked that while large numbers of registrations from a single organization are uncommon, they are not unprecedented.

Simultaneously, Republican National Committee Chair Michael Whatley has suggested that Pennsylvania is suffering from "voter suppression from the left," and the RNC has taken legal action against Bucks County for allegedly turning away voters. Bucks County officials countered this claim, stating that no voters seeking mail-in ballots were denied.

Pennsylvania's Republican Secretary of State, Al Schmidt, emphasized that the commonwealth is actively working to enhance election security for 2024. Despite this, Trump and the GOP are continuing to cast doubt on the state’s election integrity. Schmidt noted that the Department of State is working with local counties to assist in ongoing investigations and will support any necessary legal actions.

Trump, whose previous fraud claims about Pennsylvania in the 2020 election were debunked, has continued to rally his supporters by spreading similar narratives. These unverified claims come amidst a highly charged political climate in Pennsylvania, further fueled by a barrage of political advertisements and misleading information circulating online.
