### Bus Collision with Detached Trailer in Mexico Leaves 24 Dead and 5 Injured

A tragic accident in central Mexico resulted in the deaths of 24 people and left five others injured when a bus overturned after colliding with a trailer that had come loose from a truck transporting corn. The incident occurred around midnight on Friday, according to Mexican authorities.

The bus was on its way from Tepic, located in the state of Nayarit in western Mexico, to Ciudad Juarez in the northern part of the country when the accident occurred. The injured passengers have been taken to a hospital in Zacatecas for treatment.

In a video statement shared on social media, Juan Manríquez Moreno, coordinator of the National Guard in Zacatecas, explained that the trailer had detached on the highway, leading to the collision with the passenger bus. The impact caused the bus to tip over onto its right side.

Rodrigo Reyes Mugüerza, the secretary general of the government in Zacatecas, was present at the scene and shared his condolences. "We send our solidarity and condolences to all the families and people who have lost a loved one in this unfortunate accident," he stated.

The affected highway has been closed as officials work to secure the area. Authorities announced that they would soon release the names of the injured to aid families in locating their loved ones.
