Tragic Bus Accident in Mississippi Claims Seven Lives as Dozens Injured

A devastating bus accident occurred early Saturday on westbound Interstate 20, east of Vicksburg, Mississippi, leaving seven people dead and dozens injured, according to authorities. The victims included two siblings, aged 6 and 16, as confirmed by Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey. Thirty-seven passengers were transported to hospitals in Vicksburg and Jackson with their injuries yet to be determined, stated the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
The incident involved a 2018 Volvo bus that overturned near Bovina, as reported by the highway patrol. Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace expressed his grief, stating, "Anytime you have people injured or killed, it's tragic but when you have a situation like this where you have multiple fatalities and multiple injuries, it makes it even worse." Six passengers were pronounced dead at the accident scene, while another victim succumbed to injuries at the hospital, revealed the highway patrol.

Tow truck driver Keith Allison, who was present at the scene, recounted how the bus veered off the highway and ended up in a ditch, resulting in numerous passengers being ejected.
