### Tory Lanez Hospitalized Following Stabbing Incident at Tehachapi Correctional Facility

Tory Lanez, the rapper currently serving a prison sentence, was hospitalized after being stabbed multiple times by another inmate at the Tehachapi correctional facility. The attack occurred on the morning of May 12, at 7:20 AM in the housing unit of the facility.

According to a report by TMZ, Lanez sustained a total of 14 stab wounds. Specific details from his Instagram account revealed that he suffered seven wounds to his back, four to his torso, two to the back of his head, and one to the left side of his face. The post also mentioned that both of his lungs collapsed as a result of the stabbing and he was initially placed on a breathing apparatus. Fortunately, it was noted that he is now breathing independently.

Following the violent incident, Lanez was transported to the hospital where he continues to receive medical care. Despite the severity of the injuries, officials from the correctional facility have stated that they are not life-threatening.

Lanez, who has approximately eight years remaining on his ten-year sentence, began his prison term after being found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in July 2020. Convicted on three felony charges by a jury in late 2022, he was sentenced to ten years in prison the following year.

In a recent development, Lanez’s attorney filed a habeas corpus petition in 2024, challenging the trial's proceedings. The petition claims that crucial evidence, specifically the gun and bullet fragments from the shooting, was not properly disclosed during the court proceedings.
