### Tim Walz Criticizes Elon Musk's $1 Million Daily Giveaway as Support for Trump
Minnesota Governor and Democratic vice-presidential hopeful, Tim Walz, has sharply criticized Elon Musk's controversial plan to give away $1 million a day in support of Donald Trump. According to Walz, the initiative highlights a campaign devoid of substantive plans for the American public.
Elon Musk's proposal involves offering registered voters in pivotal swing states a chance to participate in a daily $1 million giveaway. The only condition: signing his Super PAC’s petitions advocating for free speech and gun rights. This move has sparked debate among experts, who are questioning the legality of what many perceive as a vote-buying scheme.
Walz expressed his disapproval of Musk's tactic during an appearance on ABC's daytime talk show, The View. "When you have no economic plan that benefits the middle class, no strategy to protect reproductive rights, and no solution for climate change and American energy production, you resort to these kinds of tactics," he said. As for the legality of Musk's strategy, Walz deferred the issue to legal experts, stating, "I'll let the lawyers decide."
This marks the second appearance of the Democratic presidential ticket on The View in recent weeks. Previously, Kamala Harris announced a new "Medicare at home" initiative on the show. The plan aims to help seniors afford home health aides without facing financial ruin.
Known for his engaging demeanor in interviews, Walz also took a jab at Donald Trump, saying, "One nice thing is, he will not be president again." He offered a piece of unsolicited advice to JD Vance, the Republican vice-presidential candidate, suggesting he "just go in and order the chocolate doughnut," referring to a particularly awkward campaign stop for Vance.
Walz's appearance on The View is one of several recent television engagements, with upcoming spots on shows like The Daily Show and recent ones on Fox News Sunday. On The View, he exuded confidence, reminiscent of the television charisma that landed him the role as Kamala Harris's running mate. Reflecting his renewed campaigning vigor, he urged voters watching the show to "choose a future where you're the center of it, not Donald Trump."
Despite a rocky start where his performance was criticized during the vice-presidential debate, Walz seemed to regain his footing, showcasing the confidence and clarity that could prove essential in the final stretch of the campaign.
