Teen Faces Life in Prison for Role in Brutal Mall Murder

In a shocking revelation during the court proceedings, prosecutors disclosed that a 14-year-old boy from Wyoming, Bobby Maher, lost his life while trying to protect his girlfriend from a pair of ski mask-wearing teenagers. Dominique Antonio Richard Harris, aged 15, pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit murder during his trial on Wednesday.

The incident took place in April at the Eastridge Mall in Casper, Wyoming, and according to court records, Harris admitted to holding Maher down while his alleged co-conspirator, Jarreth Plunkett, 15, mercilessly stabbed him to death. Harris, who is being tried as an adult, claimed that he was only trying to end the fight, but surveillance footage contradicted his statement, showing him pinning Maher to the ground as Plunkett attacked him with a knife.

Reports suggest that Maher rushed to the mall to assist his girlfriend, who had called him seeking help after she and her friend were allegedly being stalked by Harris and Plunkett. The two accused teenagers are also said to have stolen knives from a Target store prior to the deadly altercation.

Court documents reveal that Harris and Plunkett confronted Maher due to an incident that occurred during spring break at a park in Evansville. Maher allegedly called them "freaks" when he saw them exiting a portable bathroom together, fueling their anger and prompting the confrontation at the mall.

Harris now faces charges of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, aggravated battery and assault, as well as misdemeanor theft. If convicted, he may potentially face life imprisonment for his role in the murder of Bobby Maher.
