In a series of frightening incidents, a suspect accused of stabbing multiple individuals in Massachusetts has been apprehended by authorities. Jared Ravizza, 26, is the alleged assailant behind the attacks that took place at both a movie theater in Braintree and a McDonald's restaurant in Plymouth. The Plymouth County District Attorney's Office has confirmed that Ravizza is the primary suspect in these "South Shore stabbing incidents."
The first attack occurred around 6 p.m. on Saturday at an AMC movie theater in Braintree. Without any warning or apparent motive, the assailant targeted and stabbed four young girls. Thankfully, the victims sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were promptly sent to Boston hospitals for treatment. The theater, on high alert, immediately went into lockdown following the incident. Video footage allowed authorities to capture the license plate of the suspect's black SUV, which fled the scene.
Approximately an hour later, at a McDonald's in Plymouth, a 21-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man fell victim to another horrific stabbing. Ravizza, allegedly driving a black Porsche Macan SUV, arrived at the scene. Surveillance footage from the McDonald's shows the suspect reaching through the drive-through window and stabbing the male victim with a large knife. Subsequently, Ravizza parked the car, entered the restaurant, and stabbed the female victim before making his escape in the vehicle.
Both victims from the McDonald's attack were transported to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. Minutes after the incident, state troopers located Ravizza's car and attempted to pull him over. However, the suspect refused to stop, leading to a chase. The pursuit came to a crashing end in Sandwich, about a 25-minute drive south of Plymouth. Ravizza sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was subsequently admitted to a hospital for treatment.
Ravizza has been charged with assault with intent to murder and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon in connection to the McDonald's attack. While no details have been provided about the other incidents, Braintree police have suggested a likely connection between the movie theater stabbings and the McDonald's incident.
In a separate development, Connecticut State Police have reported that a suspect linked to a death in Deep River has been taken into custody in Massachusetts. Authorities have not confirmed whether this case is connected to the stabbing incidents in Massachusetts. Connecticut State Police responded to a disturbance in Deep River, where they discovered a deceased individual whose identity remains unconfirmed.
The investigation into these unsettling incidents is still ongoing. Massachusetts State Police, the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office, and the Braintree Police Department are all actively working to uncover more information. As of now, it remains unclear whether Ravizza has legal representation. The public eagerly awaits further updates and additional details from law enforcement agencies involved in the investigation.
