In a surprising turn of events, deep blue New Jersey seems to be showing signs of support for former President Donald Trump, as voters voiced their preference for him over Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming election. Former CNN host Don Lemon encountered this unexpected sentiment while speaking to residents in Atlantic City and defending Harris in a video he posted on Saturday.

During the interview, one voter boldly proclaimed, "Trump for the win," expressing his belief that Vice President Harris was not suitable for a leadership role. Lemon questioned whether this opposition had anything to do with gender, to which the interviewee replied that it had no relation to her being a woman. The Vice President had assumed the top spot on the Democratic ticket after President Biden withdrew from the race due to mounting pressure from within his party.

Another voter lamented that four years ago, during Trump's presidency, they were in a far better financial position compared to the present. Lemon countered this by stating that the economy had actually improved under President Biden, but the voter seemingly unswayed, chuckled in disbelief.

Lemon then inquired if the voter watched CNN, to which they retorted, insinuating skepticism towards the network's reporting. Further conversations revealed another voter's perception that Harris lacked experience, despite holding positions as a prosecutor, attorney general, senator, and now vice president. Lemon attempted to educate the voter on Harris's extensive professional background, but the voter remained steadfast in their support for Trump.

In the video, a woman expressed her desire to see Trump win again, citing the need for someone with a "stronger background with the military." Lemon informed her of Harris's career accomplishments, including her roles as prosecutor, attorney general, senator, and vice president, highlighting her qualifications.

Another voter voiced support for the former president due to Harris's record on immigration and the border crisis. Lemon concluded the video by declaring his need to move on from Atlantic City, prompting the question of where his next destination would be. It was revealed that Lemon had also recently visited Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he discovered a majority of voters planning to support Harris.

In related news, the Harris campaign made an announcement on Wednesday regarding her intent to implement a "federal ban on price gouging on food and groceries" if elected president, with the aim of curbing undue advantage taken by "big corporations" over consumers. However, this proposal faced criticism from Washington Post columnist Catherine Rampell, who labeled it a flawed policy and cautioned against introducing economic agendas that could be misconstrued as federal price controls.

As the election season continues to unfold, these incidents shed light on the shifting political landscape and the varying opinions held by different voters across key battleground states.
