On Thursday, a shooting in Chicago's south side resulted in the death of two women, aged 42 and 22, and the injury of three young boys, ages 8, 7, and 5. In Albany, New York, a gathering at a residence turned violent in the early hours of Friday. Six people, between the ages of 16 and 19, were shot and thankfully suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Police responded to the scene on Myrtle Avenue and discovered evidence of gunfire in the rear yard and street. No arrests have been made thus far.

The Seattle suburb of Lynnwood was also marred by gun violence on Wednesday evening. During a fight between two groups of teenagers at a local mall, a 13-year-old bystander named Jayda Woods-Johnson was fatally shot. The suspect, a 16-year-old boy believed to have fired the gun, was later apprehended by his mother and handed over to the police.
