### Texas A&M Pulls Off Stunning Comeback Against LSU, Secures Signature Win for Mike Elko

On Saturday night at Kyle Field, Texas A&M stunned the LSU Tigers by coming back from a 10-point halftime deficit to secure a 38-23 victory. This triumphant win, accomplished before the third-largest crowd in Kyle Field history, marks a significant milestone in the Mike Elko era, lifting the Aggies to an impressive 7-1 season record and placing them in sole possession of first place in the SEC.

For the first time since joining the SEC, Texas A&M finds itself without any competition in the undefeated ranks of the conference. Currently standing 5-0 in SEC play, a feat last achieved in 1998, the Aggies are in full control of their destiny as they head into November.

A pivotal performance from A&M's nickel corner B.J. Mayes played a crucial role in turning the game around. His two interceptions, one of which set up a quick scoring drive by Marcel Reed and another that led to the Aggies taking the lead, were instrumental in shifting the momentum.

LSU's missed opportunities loomed large in their defeat. The Tigers failed all three of their field goal attempts, moving successively from a missed push left, to a long kick that fell short, to a mismanaged premature snap. While the final score may lessen the perceived impact of these errors, they undeniably kept the Aggies within striking distance early in the game.

Texas A&M's ground game outshined LSU, chalking up 4.9 yards per carry compared to the Tigers' mere 1.0. Running backs Le'Veon Moss and Amari Daniels, alongside quarterback Marcel Reed, combined for a formidable 236 rushing yards and five touchdowns. LSU, on the other hand, was held to just 24 rushing yards, including no gains in the second half.

The pattern of dominance continued as A&M marked their fourth consecutive win over LSU at Kyle Field. What was once a lopsided series has now evolved into a competitive rivalry, with the home team prevailing in all the recent matchups.

The Aggies' defense demonstrated impenetrable resolve, allowing just six points in the second half. Over their last four SEC matchups, they have conceded only 26 second-half points, living up to Mike Elko's reputation for effective halftime adjustments.

With ESPN's Football Power Index giving A&M a 46.6% chance of making the College Football Playoff, the prospects are promising for the Aggies. This remarkable comeback victory broke LSU's streak of 104 straight games where they won after leading by 10+ points at halftime and marked A&M's most significant comeback since the 2013 Chick Fil A Bowl.

In a night where LSU seemed to crumble under the electric atmosphere created by 108,852 raucous fans, Texas A&M moves forward with everything to play for heading into November. The Aggies are set to face a stout South Carolina defense on the road in Week 10.
