Stoughton High School Student Fatally Shot in Boston Shooting

In a tragic series of shootings that occurred in Boston, one of the victims was identified as Christian Cousins, a rising senior at Stoughton High School. Stoughton Public Schools officials confirmed on Saturday that Cousins, who was part of the class of 2025, was shot and killed on Friday while in the Mattapan neighborhood, accompanied by a fellow classmate. The second student also sustained gunshot injuries, but they were deemed non-life-threatening. The school officials did not disclose the identity of the injured student.
According to the Boston police, the fatal shooting took place shortly before 12:30 p.m. on Friday near the intersection of Gladeside Ave. and Donwood Terrace in Mattapan. Crime scene markers were observed around a residence, while a vehicle was seen crashed through a fence, as depicted in video footage captured by Sky5. The authorities indicated that the initial investigation suggested that the attack was not a random act of violence, but gave no further details.
Stoughton Public Schools expressed their deep condolences in a statement, stating that it is never easy to cope with the loss of a student, particularly under such distressing circumstances. They extended their thoughts and sympathies to Christian's family, friends, and teachers, along with the entire Stoughton High community.
