However, this may soon change as groups in solidarity with Jewish students plan dozens of rallies in the coming days.

The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has stirred a wide range of views among Jewish students, with many holding nuanced opinions. Despite deep concerns about the war in Gaza and the resulting backlash on their campuses, some students have shied away from participating in demonstrations. Fervent debates have ensued among Jewish students over whether and how to respond as pro-Palestinian encampments spread from one university to the next. Some have even joined the encampments and celebrated Passover among the tents with fellow protesters.

Organizer Gabrielle Guigui emphasized the goal of providing a safe space for Jewish students who may be fearful, stating that "a lot of them are scared."

One student, senior Brina Cartagenova, symbolized the changing sentiment by proudly wearing a necklace with her Hebrew name. Previously, she had taken it off due to fears of retaliation on campus.
