In a strong rebuke to the International Court of Justice (ICJ), Senator Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., expressed his disdain for their recent order demanding Israel to halt its military operations in southern Gaza. Taking to social media platform X on Friday, Graham declared, "As far as I'm concerned, the ICJ can go to hell." He further criticized the United Nations-associated body, stating that it was high time to stand up against international justice organizations.

Graham vehemently criticized the ICJ's ruling, referring to it as "ridiculous." The order requested Israel to cease operations aimed at eliminating four battalions of Hamas militants who allegedly use Palestinians as human shields. Senator Graham stood firmly in support of Israel, arguing that the ruling should be ignored and dismissed.

The ICJ's decision came amidst ongoing military operations conducted by Israel in Rafah, which is considered the last stronghold for Hamas. The militant group has accused Israeli forces of targeting civilians and children. However, it is important to note that the ICJ lacks the power to enforce its rulings, as exemplified by Russia's disregard for the court's order back in 2022 to halt its invasion of Ukraine.

Senator Graham highlighted the previous actions of the International Criminal Court (ICC) as well, citing their threat of action against U.S. forces involved in operations in Afghanistan. He cautioned against the ICC's approach, arguing that if they continue to target Israel, America could be next. Graham stressed the need for strong sanctions to defend friends in Israel, adding that failure to act could have potential consequences for the United States.

Earlier this week, Senator Graham had already criticized the ICC for its attempt to seek arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, along with Hamas leaders. The allegations against them include war crimes and crimes against humanity. In response, Graham revealed that he was in discussions with Senate and House members from both parties to potentially impose sanctions on the ICC in response to the arrest warrants.

Senator Lindsey Graham's vocal support for Israel and condemnation of international justice organizations is indicative of the strong bipartisan stance in the United States towards the Middle Eastern nation. As the debate surrounding the ICJ and ICC intensifies, it remains to be seen how the U.S. will navigate these global legal entities in defense of its allies.
