In a recent appearance on CNN's "State of the Union," Senator John Fetterman acknowledged the formidable debating skills of both former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris. With the much-anticipated ABC News Presidential Debate in Philadelphia just around the corner, Fetterman expressed his belief that the debate will be evenly matched, stating, "it will be close."

Responding to a question about what Harris must do to win over key voters in the critical battleground state of Pennsylvania, Fetterman emphasized that the debate will be a "straight-up" contest. Although he expressed confidence in Harris's performance, he also acknowledged Trump's reputation as a skilled debater, one who dominated Republican candidates during the previous presidential election cycle.

However, Fetterman cautioned against viewing the debate as a definitive factor in the election outcome. He emphasized that it ultimately boils down to the choice voters make, given Pennsylvania's historical tendency to have closely contested elections. The senator believes that Pennsylvanians will prioritize the themes of "order" versus "chaos" when deciding who to support.

Fetterman anticipates that a majority of Pennsylvanians will opt for "four years of order, fairness, unity, and a different way forward." He argued that they do not desire a return to the "dark days and chaos" which he identifies as defining aspects of the Trump presidency.

Meanwhile, a recent New York Times/Siena poll revealed that Trump continues to hold a narrow edge over Harris nationally. The poll indicated that 48% of likely voters expressed support for Trump, while 47% backed Harris.

With Pennsylvania often serving as a pivotal state in presidential elections, the upcoming debate in Philadelphia will undoubtedly carry significant weight. As the candidates prepare to face each other, the nation watches eagerly to see how their contrasting visions and policies will resonate with voters in this closely contested battle for the White House.
