**Senator Elizabeth Warren Accuses Elon Musk of Self-Serving Practices in Government Role**

Senator Elizabeth Warren has accused billionaire Elon Musk of using his position within the Trump Administration to advance his own financial interests. A report released by Warren's office on Tuesday calls out Musk for employing his role as a "special government employee" to benefit himself and his businesses. The report highlights 130 instances suggesting Musk and his enterprises profited from his involvement with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Warren's report claims that Musk's actions frequently violated rules designed to prevent federal employees from engaging in matters where they have financial stakes. Moreover, the report argues that Musk frequently disregarded standard government employee norms. The report states, "In many cases, Musk has violated norms at an astonishing pace, contributing to the Trump Administration actions that have benefitted his private interests while hurting the American public—scandalous behavior regardless of whether it subjects him to criminal prosecution."

One major point of concern outlined in the report is that Musk's businesses have secured "new lucrative contracts" with federal agencies after President Donald Trump re-entered the White House. The report also notes that Musk's relatives, including his brother Kimbal Musk, benefitted from their respective business deals following Musk's involvement with DOGE.

Another contention from the report relates to regulatory leniency. It claims that potential liabilities facing Musk's companies, amounting to over $2.3 billion, have been significantly diminished. Investigations and lawsuits against Musk's companies were reportedly dropped or stalled after Trump resumed presidential duties. DOGE also implemented budget cuts at oversight agencies like the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, potentially easing the scrutiny on Musk's businesses.

The report further contends that recent policy changes by agencies such as the Department of Transportation, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the Securities and Exchange Commission seemed to favor Musk's ventures.

Despite the serious allegations, Musk has not yet filed his financial disclosure form, which is necessary for identifying potential conflicts of interest in government roles. The White House, however, stood by Musk. Harrison Fields, a spokesperson for the White House, stated, "Elon Musk has done more to improve the lives of Americans and strengthen this country in just over 100 days than Sen. Warren has achieved in her over 10-year career. The Senator excels at producing toothless reports that waste paper and will be read by no one, even if paid to. The President's success through DOGE is undisputed, and his work will continue to yield historic results."

Companies mentioned in the report, such as SpaceX, Tesla, and xAI, did not provide comments despite requests from Business Insider. Warren has a history of criticizing Musk, voicing concerns about potential conflicts of interest as his business empire expanded. Last year, she requested Trump to establish conflict-of-interest rules for Musk, describing his White House position without such rules as an "invitation for corruption on a scale not seen in our lifetimes."

In contrast, Musk has recently criticized the Republican budget bill, calling it a "big, beautiful bill" that's an abomination. He claimed the bill would exacerbate the deficit and undermine the work done by DOGE.
