Republican Texas Senator Ted Cruz continues to stand firmly in his support for Israel, undeterred by a series of nearly two dozen anti-Israel protests staged outside his Houston-area home. According to Fox News Digital, protesters have been gathering outside Cruz's residence since February, with their outcry intensifying following Hamas' October 7 attack on Israel.
The demonstrations have been in response to Cruz's unwavering support of Israel during the conflict and his vocal opposition to what he terms as "cultural Marxism" prevalent in elite university classrooms across the nation. Despite facing repeated harassment, Cruz's spokesperson affirmed that the senator remains resolute in fighting antisemitism and upholding Texas values.
The most recent incident occurred on Friday evening when anti-Israel demonstrators gathered outside Cruz's Texas home for the 23rd time since February 10. Photos and videos captured about a dozen protesters chanting, clapping, and holding signs with messages such as "Cease Fire Now," "No rest for the wicked, Ted," and "Israel bombs playgrounds." The protesters also wore masks and rang bells as they voiced their dissent.
Cruz took to social media to express his frustrations about the persistent agitators who have shown up at his home on most weekends and Friday nights over the past six months. He stated that they disturb the peace, wake up neighbors, and exhibit a blatant display of antisemitism. He also reaffirmed his unwavering support for Israel despite the protesters cheering on Hamas.
The college protests against the war in Israel have been on the rise, with instances of antisemitism and Jewish students expressing concerns about their safety on some campuses. Columbia University witnessed radical actions as protesters took over the Hamilton Hall building, while UCLA, Harvard, and Yale faced escalating student encampments demanding divestment from Israel.
It was previously reported that these protests were associated with far-left organizations supported by liberal mega-donor George Soros. The National Students for Justice in Palestine (NSJP) had a significant presence during protests at Columbia University, UCLA, Tufts, and the University of Texas at Austin - Cruz's home state. NSJP celebrated Hamas' initial attack on Israel, describing it as a "historic win for the Palestinian resistance."
Law enforcement officials have informed Senator Cruz that the protesters outside his home are affiliated with Students for Justice in Palestine. Additionally, Cruz has been targeted by liberal protesters during previous demonstrations outside his Houston-area residence, including a 2021 gathering of climate activists.
Despite the ongoing protests at his home and on college campuses, Senator Cruz has reiterated his steadfast support for Israel, condemning the agitators as individuals whose minds have been poisoned with hatred towards America. He criticized the university administrators for not prioritizing the safety of Jewish students and accused the Biden administration and Democratic Party leadership of being absent in the face of rising antisemitism across educational institutions.
In the face of relentless protests and harassment, Senator Cruz remains unbowed, vowing to continue his fight against antisemitism and stand firmly with Israel.
