In a brazen incident that took place while President Biden was attending a fundraiser in Los Angeles, a U.S. Secret Service employee was robbed at gunpoint in Tustin, California. The robbery occurred on Saturday night, as the Secret Service member was returning from a work assignment.

According to Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi, the employee fired his service weapon during the robbery, but it is unclear if the assailants were struck. Fortunately, the employee himself sustained no injuries during the incident.

The Tustin Police Department promptly responded to a call regarding the robbery around 9:30 p.m. Local authorities confirmed that an officer-involved shooting had taken place during the robbery. However, the suspects managed to flee the scene and have not been located thus far.

A source familiar with the investigation revealed that the Secret Service officer was off-duty at the time of the incident and was not part of President Biden's protective detail during his California trip. This hints that the officer was operating in a support capacity.

Police are seeking public assistance in identifying the perpetrators involved in the incident. Officers have already discovered some of the victim's belongings since the robbery, providing potential leads to further investigate the case.

Authorities provided a description of a silver Infiniti, manufactured between 2004 and 2006, which was seen leaving the area where the robbery took place. Law enforcement agencies are urging anyone with information about the incident or the suspects to come forward.

The Secret Service has declared the ongoing investigation as open and active, emphasizing that there is no known threat to the public at this time.

As the search for the assailants continues, both the Secret Service and local law enforcement authorities vow to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure the safety of the community.
