As the 2024 Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago enters its second day, the lineup of keynote speakers continues to impress. Former President Barack Obama, former First Lady Michelle Obama, and Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker are among the notable politicians expected to address the convention on Tuesday.

The convention, which can be streamed live on the NBC 5 Chicago News 24/7 streaming channel, kicked off on Monday with passionate speeches from President Joe Biden, U.S. Rep. Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Former Chicago Bulls player Steve Kerr also made an impactful address, expressing his criticism towards former President Donald Trump.

According to organizers, multiple speeches were cut to accommodate President Biden's address, including a musical performance by James Taylor and speeches from Reps. Grace Meng and Debbie Wasserman-Schultz. It remains uncertain if these speeches will be added back to the program.

On day two of the convention, attendees can expect to hear from some of the most influential figures in politics. Former President Barack Obama, delivering his address in his hometown of Chicago, is anticipated to captivate the audience with his words. Michelle Obama, the former first lady, will also grace the stage with her presence and deliver a speech that is likely to resonate with viewers.

Furthermore, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker, who is being considered as a potential running mate for Vice President Kamala Harris, is set to deliver an address. Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff and entertainment host Ana Navarro will also speak during the proceedings.

The United Center, home to the Chicago Bulls and Blackhawks, serves as the primary location for the convention. Doors will open at 4 p.m. CT, with main programming beginning at 6 p.m. CT. Aside from the speeches, there will be a range of events taking place, including delegation breakfasts, caucuses, and meetings focused on important topics such as reproductive rights and social media in election campaigns.

The theme for day two of the convention is "A Bold Vision for America's Future," highlighting the Harris-Walz platform and their plans for the nation. Former President Bill Clinton is expected to take the stage on Wednesday, along with Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, the chosen vice-presidential nominee. On Thursday, Vice President Kamala Harris will officially accept the party's presidential nomination, marking a significant moment in the convention.

The 2024 DNC in Chicago commenced on Monday, August 19, and will continue until Thursday, August 22. While the United Center hosts the main events and speeches, McCormick Place, the city's largest convention center, will be the venue for caucus and council meetings throughout the week.

If you are unable to attend the convention in person, fear not! NBC Chicago's website and mobile app provide livestreams of all four floor sessions of the DNC. Additionally, the NBC 5 Chicago News 24/7 Streaming Channel and Telemundo Chicago also offer expanded coverage.
