### Sean Combs Accused of Attempting to Contact Witnesses from Jail

Prosecutors have accused music mogul Sean Combs of attempting to obstruct the federal case against him while he is incarcerated. The allegations, detailed in court documents filed on Friday night, claim Combs sought to evade government surveillance by initiating three-way phone calls and securing access to other inmates' phone privileges.

The government’s assertions come just a week before a pivotal hearing to determine whether Combs will be granted release on bail. Since September, Combs has been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, in a special housing unit typically designated for high-profile inmates.

The court filing describes Combs’s “relentless efforts” to make contact with potential witnesses, which includes the use of three-way calls to communicate with associates deemed part of his "criminal enterprise" by prosecutors. The filing also alleges that Combs used the telephone accounts of at least eight other inmates, instructing others to compensate these inmates—sometimes through their commissary accounts—to gain their cooperation.

Prosecutors emphasized Combs's capacity to manipulate others, stating, "The defendant has demonstrated an uncanny ability to get others to do his bidding - employees, family members, and M.D.C. inmates alike." Although the specific content and recipients of the calls were redacted in the court documents, the actions were cited as evidence of Combs’s willingness to flout jail regulations as part of his alleged obstruction efforts.

Combs's representatives have not immediately responded to these allegations. He has entered a plea of not guilty and has strongly denied the charges, maintaining that the controversial "freak offs" in question were consensual.
