### 'S.N.L.' Spoofs Peaceful Transition with Biden and Trump

"Saturday Night Live" kicked off its weekend show with a humorous take on a fictional White House transition meeting between President Biden and President-elect Donald J. Trump. The sketch provided a platform to introduce new impersonations and reprise familiar ones, setting the stage for a comical look at the Trump administration.

Dana Carvey, a beloved "S.N.L." alum, returned to his role as President Biden, aiming to engage in a "respectful conversation" with Trump, portrayed by James Austin Johnson. Johnson’s Trump, however, was humorously characterized as subdued yet ominously quiet, a departure from his usual loud and brash demeanor. After dismissing reporters, Johnson expressed his dread about returning to the White House, likening his experience to being at a sticky, smelly movie theater and lamenting his potential four more years of residence.

The skit also featured Johnson boasting about his eccentric cabinet picks, including Elon Musk and Matt Gaetz, described humorously as an "Alien vs. Predator" scenario. Sarah Sherman played Gaetz, complete with a joke about resigning from Congress due to the busy "girls’ volleyball season," while Alec Baldwin returned to portray Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Trump's pick for health and human services secretary.

The comedic portrayal didn’t stop at the Oval Office. The evening included a musical segment where Charli XCX joined a group serenading their pregnant friend, echoing an October sketch that went viral. This time, they hinted at potential future projects, like a movie named after the character Domingo.

"S.N.L." alumni made notable appearances too. Andy Samberg co-starred with Charli XCX in a music video parody and former cast member Kyle Mooney appeared both in Charli XCX's monologue and a baking competition sketch, much to the delight of long-time viewers.

The Weekend Update segment, hosted by Colin Jost and Michael Che, featured sharp jabs at Trump's cabinet selections, jesting about Kristi Noem, Lee Zeldin, and Elise Stefanik. They saved some of their most biting humor for Elon Musk's involvement with Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s nomination, complete with visual gags to drive the points home.

Bowen Yang and Sarah Sherman also made memorable appearances during Weekend Update, with Yang channeling Joe Exotic, the "Tiger King," and Sherman donning a squirrel costume to play the widow of an infamous internet squirrel named P'Nut.

"S.N.L." continues to blend political satire with celebrity impersonations, maintaining its long-standing tradition of reflecting and ridiculing current events through humor. This latest episode upheld that legacy, bringing back beloved cast members and introducing fresh takes on contemporary political figures.
