### Trump's Aide Confirms Mike Rogers Will Not Lead the FBI

A top aide to President-elect Donald Trump, Dan Scavino Jr., has dismissed rumors that former Congressman Mike Rogers of Michigan will be the next director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Scavino, who is set to become Trump's deputy chief of staff, took to social media to quash the speculation, stating that Trump never considered Rogers for the role.

Mike Rogers, a former FBI special agent and the former chair of the House Armed Services Committee, narrowly lost his Senate bid in Michigan earlier this month. He had been a favorite for the FBI director position in the past, receiving endorsements from the FBI Agents Association in both 2013 and 2017. Rogers was also reportedly considered for the position of Defense Secretary before Trump chose Pete Hegseth.

However, Rogers is seen by many as an establishment figure. Trump's Cabinet selections appear to be moving away from traditional candidates, aligning more with his strategy to challenge what his supporters call the "deep state."

Another name that has come up in the discussion is Kash Patel, who served as principal deputy to Trump’s former acting Director of National Intelligence. Patel has made strong statements regarding the FBI, suggesting he would transform its Hoover building headquarters into a museum highlighting the "deep state."

On a different note, Kelly Morrison, an incoming member of Congress from Minnesota, has made strides in state legislation, particularly in areas protecting abortion rights. She now aims to work on bipartisan issues at the federal level, including support for new parents and veterans. Morrison, an OB-GYN and a sixth-generation Minnesotan, was motivated to enter politics by Donald Trump’s policies that eventually led to the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

Lastly, Dan Gallagher, a former Wall Street regulator and current Chief Legal Officer at Robinhood, announced that he is not interested in becoming the next chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) under Trump. Gallagher, who has a history with the SEC as a commissioner, expressed his commitment to Robinhood and its clientele of retail investors.
