**Trump Set to Claim Presidency as Republicans Secure Senate Majority**
In a significant turn of events during the recent elections, Donald Trump is projected to secure the presidency with a total of 301 out of 538 electoral college votes. Meanwhile, Vice President Harris garnered 226 electoral votes in an intensely contested race.
In the Senate, the Republicans have emerged victorious, gaining control with 53 out of 100 seats. Notably, 38 of these seats were not up for election this year. On the other hand, the Democrats now hold 46 seats, 28 of which were not contested in this election cycle.
The House of Representatives has experienced a shift in power dynamics as well. Republicans now control 211 of the 435 total seats, while Democrats maintain 200 seats.
One of the more closely watched Senate races took place in Nevada, where incumbent Democrat Sen. Jacky Rosen was projected to win, despite Republicans not having claimed a Senate seat in the state for over twelve years. Rosen, who was ahead in the polls leading up to the election, was notably endorsed by the late Harry M. Reid, a distinguished Senate majority leader in U.S. history before his passing in 2021.
