In a notable move, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) has urged President Joe Biden to capitalize on former President Donald Trump's guilty verdict in the New York hush money case as an opportunity for his campaign. Speaking about the conviction, Schiff emphasized the significance of the president taking a strong stance and highlighting Trump's status as a "convicted felon."

Schiff acknowledged that there is a time and place for each argument during this process. He emphasized that on the day of the conviction and the days following, it was important for Biden to demonstrate his respect for the jury system and stay above the fray. However, Schiff firmly stated that going forward, the president should actively engage with this development and use it as a powerful tool in his campaign.

During his statement, Schiff emphasized that Trump's conviction gives Biden a compelling advantage over his competitor. He noted that if the situation were reversed, Trump and Republicans would undoubtedly seize the opportunity to relentlessly attack Biden. Schiff stressed that it was crucial for Biden and the Democrats to forcefully advocate their case to the American people.

The guilty verdict in the New York hush money case delivered a blow to Trump, with the former president found guilty on 34 counts of falsifying business records. Schiff reiterated the importance of voters considering the consequences of having a "convicted felon" in the White House, highlighting the potential implications for the proper functioning of the country's governance.

Biden's campaign has so far been cautious in directly attacking Trump on the hush money case as the trial was still underway in Manhattan. However, leading up to the verdict, the campaign organized an event with actor Robert De Niro outside the courthouse, enabling them to present their case to voters, emphasizing why they should choose Biden over Trump.

Responding to Trump's claims that the trial had been "rigged," Biden labeled them "irresponsible" and "reckless." The campaign further reinforced its stance that Trump's response to his conviction only solidified the fact that he was unfit to be president.

In light of the verdict and the campaign's determination to keep Trump out of the Oval Office, Biden's campaign sent out a fundraising email branding Trump a "convicted felon." They emphasize that the only way to prevent him from returning to power is by defeating him at the ballot box.

As the political landscape heats up, it remains to be seen how President Biden will leverage his opponent's guilty verdict in the New York hush money case to gain an advantage. The outcome of this highly publicized trial has set the stage for a fierce battle for public opinion as the 2024 presidential election draws nearer.
