In a recent development, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has announced that she will allow her fellow House Republicans to hear from their constituents before making a decision on whether to proceed with a vote to remove Speaker Mike Johnson. This statement comes after the House passed four significant bills during a Saturday session.

The bills that were approved cover a range of crucial topics, including providing aid to Taiwan, Ukraine, and Israel, as well as the potential ban of TikTok, if its parent company, China's ByteDance, fails to sell it. Following these successful votes, Greene addressed a group of reporters, voicing her concerns about Speaker Johnson's position.

While Greene expressed her opposition to Johnson's leadership, referring to him as a "lame duck," she also highlighted her desire to act responsibly by first securing sufficient support before calling for his resignation. In March, Greene had filed a motion to force a vote for Johnson to vacate the Speaker position, but no further action has been taken on the matter.

An additional point of contention arose when Greene criticized fellow House members for cheering and waving Ukrainian flags after the bill pertaining to aid for Ukraine was passed. This led Speaker Johnson to express his belief that the House floor should only showcase one flag, insinuating the United States flag.

The bills that passed in the House will now progress to the Senate, where Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, a Democrat from New York, has suggested that a vote could take place on Tuesday. If approved by the Senate, the bills would subsequently be sent to President Joe Biden for final consideration.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's decision to gather input from constituents before proceeding with a vote to remove Speaker Mike Johnson demonstrates her commitment to seeking the opinions and feedback of the people she represents. As these developments unfold, their outcome will have a significant impact on the political landscape and the future direction of the House of Representatives.
