Raiders Stay Put in Latest Mock Draft, Bolster Defense and Add Quarterback for Future Success

In the latest seven-round mock draft for the Las Vegas Raiders, the team opts to stay at their original position without making any trades. The objective was to strengthen the defense and secure a quarterback for the future.

With the 13th overall pick, the Raiders select Alabama cornerback Terrion Arnold. This pick remains consistent with a previous no-trade mock draft. Arnold is expected to make an immediate impact as a starter alongside Jack Jones, forming a formidable cornerback duo. Additionally, his presence will further solidify the Raiders' already strong defense, complementing nickel Nate Hobbs.

In a surprising move, the Raiders strike a deal with the Baltimore Ravens, trading away the 44th overall pick in the second round, a 2025 third-round pick, and the 148th overall pick in the fifth round to acquire the 30th overall pick. With this pick, the Raiders choose Washington quarterback Michael Penix. Despite the cost, the Raiders are confident in Penix's potential and consider the price reasonable. If Penix proves to be the franchise quarterback the team is seeking, the investment will be well worth it.

Continuing to address their needs, the Raiders select Yale tackle Kiran Amegadjie with the 77th overall pick. While he may not be ready to start immediately, the Raiders view Amegadjie as a player with high potential and the ability to develop alongside Penix.

The Raiders further strengthen their defense at the 112th overall pick by selecting LSU defensive tackle Mekhi Wingo. This pick adds depth to the defensive line and provides valuable support to the veteran players already on the team. Wingo is expected to contribute right away and help fortify the Raiders' defensive front.

Offensive lineman Travis Glover from Georgia State becomes the Raiders' pick at 208th overall. Glover, whom the team reportedly visited with, is considered a potential steal. The Raiders understand the importance of depth on the offensive line and believe Glover can provide additional support and versatility to the unit.

In the seventh round, the Raiders select linebacker Edefaun Ulofoshio from Washington at the 223rd overall pick. With this choice, the team aims to inject some youth and depth into the linebacker position. Ulofoshio, the Jim Thorpe Award winner, has drawn interest from the Raiders through their scouting process, and they believe he can be a valuable piece to their defense.

Overall, the Raiders are satisfied with their draft haul, as they were able to secure key players without surrendering a significant number of picks. The additions of Arnold, Penix, Amegadjie, Wingo, Glover, and Ulofoshio address various needs on both sides of the ball. This draft represents a win for the Las Vegas Raiders, setting them up for future success.
