A fleet of press vans, accompanying Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz, experienced a collision on a Milwaukee freeway this afternoon. According to a pool report, the incident occurred when the press van collided with the vehicle in front of it and was subsequently hit from behind. While there were some injuries reported, including a staff member being checked for a broken arm, the overall condition of the passengers involved in the crash appears to be stable.

The pool report revealed that a few reporters suffered minor scrapes and bruises as a result of the collision. Additionally, one female reporter is seeking urgent medical attention to check for a potential concussion. Paramedics were on the scene, providing immediate treatment to the injured staff member.

Despite the accident, Tim Walz, accompanied by his wife Gwen and Representative Gwen Moore (D-WI), continued on with the remainder of the motorcade to the Milwaukee Area Labor Council's Laborfest, where they were scheduled to make a campaign appearance. Matt Smith of WISN News confirmed the continuation of the motorcade, stating that the vehicles in the front of the convoy were unaffected by the crash.

Vice President Kamala Harris, who was in Detroit for a campaign event, was briefed on the collision and personally reached out to Tim Walz to inquire about his well-being and that of his staff. The reassuring communication demonstrated the Vice President's concern for the safety of the campaign team.

Hope Karnopp, a reporter for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, took to social media to share an update on the situation. In her post, she confirmed that everyone involved in the press pool vans is okay, with minor injuries and scrapes. Karnopp also confirmed that Governor Tim Walz emerged unscathed, highlighting that the motorcade's leading vehicles remained unaffected by the accident.

As investigations into the crash unfold, both the campaign staff and reporters will likely prioritize safety precautions to ensure the well-being of all those involved in future motorcade events.
