In a closed-door meeting with Democratic governors, President Joe Biden revealed that he underwent a medical examination following his first presidential debate with former President Donald Trump. According to reports from the New York Times and the Washington Post, the exam was conducted in relation to the cold the president had during the debate and was not considered a cause for concern.
White House spokesperson, Andrew Bates, confirmed the doctor visit to the New York Times. However, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre informed reporters that President Biden had not seen a physician since February. Despite this, Biden assured the governors that his overall health was fine, though he humorously added, "it's just my brain."
During the meeting, the president also discussed his need for sufficient rest, citing his multiple late nights and days spent in different time zones. Since May, Biden has traveled extensively to France, Italy, and various locations in the United States. As a result, he revealed his plan to limit his working hours after 8 p.m.
Although some Democrats are calling for Biden to step aside and allow a new generation of leaders to take the reins, the governors expressed their unwavering support for the president as he continues to pursue a second term in the White House. Maryland Governor Wes Morre stated, "The president is our nominee. The president is our party leader."
Despite the speculation surrounding his health and leadership, President Biden's recent medical exam reassures that his overall well-being is not a cause for concern. As he faces challenges and criticisms, the president remains committed to fulfilling his responsibilities and leading the nation forward.
