**President Biden Visits Tampa to Assess Hurricane Milton Damage**

President Joe Biden touched down at MacDill Air Force Base on Sunday morning to inspect the aftermath of Hurricane Milton. Upon his arrival, he was greeted by Congresswoman Kathy Castor, Tampa Mayor Jane Castor, and Hillsborough County Commissioner Gwen Myers.

The president carried out a detailed survey of the Florida Bay Area, which bore the brunt of the storm's fury last week. His visit was a follow-up to the State of Emergency he declared in Florida prior to the hurricane’s landfall, enabling federal aid to be swiftly distributed to affected counties.

Biden conducted an aerial inspection of St. Petersburg via helicopter, examining the extent of the hurricane's impact from above. On the ground at St. Pete Beach, he met with local small business owners and residents, offering words of encouragement and commending the efforts of first responders who have been pivotal in the relief efforts.

Joining Biden on his tour were several local officials, including St. Pete Beach Mayor Adrian Petrila and Florida Republican U.S. Representative Anna Luna, as they together assessed the damage and discussed plans for ongoing recovery and support.
