In a stunning turn of events, President Joe Biden is under fire from leading Democrats, who are pushing for him to withdraw from the 2024 election race against former President Donald Trump. The pressure on Biden has intensified due to concerns that his candidacy not only jeopardizes the Democratic Party's chances of retaining the White House, but also risks losing their majority in the Senate and preventing the party from regaining the House.

Former President Barack Obama, who still holds significant influence within the Democratic party, has privately expressed doubts about the viability of Biden's candidacy, according to reports from The Washington Post and the Associated Press. This development highlights the growing unease among key party figures regarding Biden's ability to secure a victory over Trump.

As President Biden continues to isolate at his beach house in Rehoboth, Delaware after testing positive for Covid, reports suggest that he is now more receptive to listening to top Democrats who are urging him to consider the risks of remaining in the race. It is said that Biden has even sought advice from his advisors on whether Vice President Kamala Harris would stand a better chance of defeating Trump.

"We're close to the end," said a source close to Biden, indicating that the pressure to withdraw from the race is mounting. Concerns about Biden's candidacy have been further fueled by the upcoming June 27 debate, with critics fearing that his performance in the debate could be detrimental not only to his chances of winning the presidency, but also to the Democrats' prospects of maintaining control of both the Senate and the House.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Rep. Hakeem Jeffries, both Democrats from New York, have directly expressed their apprehensions to Biden, warning that his presence on the party ticket could cost them their majorities in Congress. This echoes the sentiment of nearly 20 other Democrats in Congress who have publicly called for Biden to drop out of the race.

Senator John Hickenlooper of Colorado, while not explicitly calling on Biden to withdraw, acknowledged that there are "more and more indications" that it would be in the best interest of the country if he did so. Similarly, Representative Adam Schiff of California, a close ally of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, openly called for Biden to step aside.

Adding to the chorus of concerns, Pelosi reportedly informed Biden that he cannot beat Trump and that his continued candidacy could jeopardize the Democrats' chances of retaking the House majority.

Senator Bob Casey of Pennsylvania, who has been supportive of Biden's decision to stay in the race thus far, admitted that he has heard growing concerns from voters in his state. However, Casey emphasized that he believes Biden will prioritize the country's best interests when making his decision.

With mounting pressure from influential figures in the Democratic Party, the spotlight is now on President Biden as he wrestles with the choice of whether to continue his campaign or withdraw from the 2024 election race. The future of the Democratic Party's ambitions hangs in the balance as the nation awaits Biden's decision.
