R&CPMK is directly targeting ex-employees Jessica Sciacchitano, Heather McDevitt, Michelle Schwartz, and Jamie Arons in these lawsuits. The company, managed by Cindi Berger, accuses the ex-staffers of orchestrating a covert operation to siphon sensitive information to aid the launch of 2PM Sharp last month.

The legal complaints, filed in New York and Los Angeles, allege that the defendants unlawfully downloaded thousands of confidential R&CPMK files. This trove allegedly comprises proprietary data and other vital business information intended to give 2PM Sharp a competitive edge in its new operations. The intricate 24-page filing from R&CPMK's legal team at Seyfarth Shaw describes these actions as a strategic attempt to "jumpstart 2PM Sharp's new business by theft."

While the suits do not explicitly state that 2PM Sharp has lured key clients such as The Rolling Stones away, the implication is clearly present. R&CPMK, which prides itself as a dominant force in the PR industry and a consultant to numerous Fortune 500 companies, views this alleged misappropriation as a significant threat to its market position and reputation.

According to the six-claim lawsuit, R&CPMK stands to face severe financial losses, not just from the potential erosion of client business but also from the substantial costs involved in recruiting and training new employees. There is also a concern about restoring workplace morale and stability among its current staff.

The lawsuit demands a broad range of damages from 2PM Sharp and the accused agents. Additionally, R&CPMK seeks injunctions to halt 2PM Sharp and its former employees from soliciting R&CPMK's clients and staff for twelve months from the date of the alleged violations. They also want to prevent 2PM Sharp from encouraging the ex-employees to breach their post-employment obligations.

When approached for comments regarding the lawsuits, both R&CPMK's Berger and representatives from 2PM Sharp refused to provide any statements.

Interestingly, former R&CPMK CEO Mark Owens, along with now 2PM co-presidents Lindsay Galin and Jeff Raymond, though not named as co-defendants, are central figures in the complaints. The lawsuit suggests that under their leadership, a significant number of R&CPMK employees coordinated their exit to join 2PM Sharp.

Owens' departure from R&CPMK happened in March. Galin and Raymond left their executive roles at R&CPMK on October 1, right before 2PM Sharp was officially launched with offices in New York City, Los Angeles, and London, alongside nearly a dozen former R&CPMK employees.

As these multi-faceted legal battles proceed, they are likely to attract substantial attention in the PR world, reminiscent of a high-stakes drama script.
