### Trump Considers Deporting Prince Harry Over U.S. Visa Controversy
Before Donald Trump clinched the 2024 presidential election, he voiced sharp opinions about Prince Harry's relocation to the United States. Trump, aged 78, publicly stated he might contemplate deporting the Duke of Sussex, aged 40, owing to questions surrounding his U.S. visa status. Harry faces a legal dispute involving his immigration standing, admitting in his memoir "Spare" to using illegal substances such as cocaine, cannabis, and psychedelic mushrooms—an admission that could have led to his visa application being denied.
Harry and his wife, Meghan Markle, who is 43 and a U.S. citizen, have resided in California since they stepped down from their royal duties in the UK in 2020. However, Harry has been battling for legal residency. The conservative Heritage Foundation has demanded access to his visa records, arguing that Harry’s drug use should have prohibited him from entering the U.S. legally. Despite Harry’s claims in "Spare" that cocaine "didn't do anything" for him but marijuana "really did help," a judge has ruled his visa application will remain confidential, complicating Trump’s potential efforts for deportation.
The former president first floated the idea of expelling Harry from the country in February, during a speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Maryland. Trump, who has often lauded the late Queen Elizabeth II as "an incredible woman," criticized Joe Biden's administration for being overly accommodating to Harry and Meghan since their move to America. In March, Trump told GB News presenter Nigel Farage that Harry should face consequences if it’s found he lied on his visa application - consequences that could include deportation.
Eric Trump, Donald Trump’s son, has also weighed in on the matter, expressing in August that he would be "happy" to see the Sussexes leave America. In a recent interview with the Daily Mail, Eric dismissed Harry's drug use as inconsequential, stating that their family holds great respect for the monarchy. However, he suggested his father would not deport Harry over the visa discrepancies alone.
Additionally, Donald Trump has taken issue with Meghan Markle, labeling her as "very disrespectful" to Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away in November 2022 at the age of 96.
