**Giants Face Setbacks with Injuries, Prepare for Bengals Showdown**

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — The New York Giants' linebacker squad faces a significant blow as Kayvon Thibodeaux underwent wrist surgery on Wednesday morning. Head Coach Brian Daboll has labeled him "week to week," signaling a possible extended absence for the defensive stalwart. In better news, rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers is showing positive signs in his recovery from a concussion and participated in light practice activities on Wednesday.

Thibodeaux played through a fractured scaphoid bone during last Sunday’s 29-20 victory over the Seattle Seahawks, but subsequent examinations indicated surgery was necessary. Despite this setback, the Giants remain optimistic about Thibodeaux's return this season. "I'm encouraged with what I've heard, but again, you never know," Daboll expressed cautiously.

In the interim, the Giants, now holding a 2-3 record, will count on fourth-year edge rusher Azeez Ojulari to fill Thibodeaux's role opposite Brian Burns. Ojulari, despite his injury history, showed significant potential during his rookie season with eight sacks. Veteran Boogie Basham may also see increased playtime as the Giants prepare to host the Cincinnati Bengals and quarterback Joe Burrow at MetLife Stadium on Sunday night.

Malik Nabers, the Giants' leading receiver, was sidelined with a concussion sustained in a late-game scenario against the Dallas Cowboys. After missing the game against the Seahawks, Nabers is progressing well in the concussion protocol. Coach Daboll noted, "Hopefully he's feeling better, which is a good sign." Nabers has been integral to the Giants' offense, amassing 35 catches for 386 yards and three touchdowns in just four games this season.

The Giants' defensive strategy, heavily reliant on Thibodeaux and Burns generating edge pressure, received a huge blow with Thibodeaux's injury. Nevertheless, their effort has paid off so far, leading the NFL with 22 sacks. Dexter Lawrence's central push has amplified the effectiveness of their defensive ends.

Additionally, starting running back Devin Singletary, who missed the Seahawks game, practiced on Wednesday and appears to be recovering well. Daboll reported that Singletary is "trending in the right direction," bolstering the team's offensive prospects for the upcoming game.

As the Giants look to adapt to these roster changes, the return of Nabers and Singletary could provide a much-needed boost as they brace for their critical encounter with the Bengals.
